One of the most awaited seasons of the year is the monsoon because of the beautiful weather and the peacefulness  of the rain. The season not only provides some relief from the harsh summer heat, but it also serves as the ideal justification for eating in some of our favorite’s street delicacies. However, monsoons are not the best time of season for health. Our health can be severely harmed by seasonal infections, food-borne illnesses, mosquito-borne illnesses, fever, and other conditions. Even from an Ayurvedic perspective, dosha imbalances brought on by the monsoon may have an impact on general health. Certain herbs and spices have the ability to correct these dosha imbalances and increase our indignation.

Ashwagandha

Neem

According to Batra, the neem components nimbidin and nimbolide have been shown to have antibacterial and antifungal activities. Neem tea or neem leaf chewing can improve general wellbeing.

Lemongrass

Citral, a chemical found in lemongrass, has antibacterial and immune-boosting qualities. During the monsoon, drinking lemongrass tea or eating soup with lemongrass as an ingredient will help boost your immune system and safeguard you from frequent infections.

Giloy

Giloy, an anti-inflammatory and antipyretic plant, helps in a speedy recovery by boosting your resistance to infection. Due to its antipyretic (fever-reducing) Javarghana qualities, giloy may be used to treat fever and flu-like symptoms. During the monsoon, consuming Giloy as a decoction or in powder form can assist strengthen your immune system.

Ginger

An important bioactive component of ginger called gingerol has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anticancer, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties. During the monsoon season, sipping ginger tea or adding grated ginger to soups, stews, or stir-fries might improve your general health.
